Facade Improvement Programs
Despite the City providing a Facade Improvement Grant offering a 50% match on renovations, our downtown buildings still need attention. The program offers up to $10,000 per facade and $1,000 per sign, but since 2009 these incentives have not worked fast enough.
Barriers facing property owners:
- High upfront costs
- Complex application process
- Limited contractor availability
How we are improving this:
- Community-driven project prioritization
- Local investor matching
- Grant writing assistance
- Start-to-finish project management

Participate by voting to prioritize the facades we should focus on, add a property, or contact us to get involved.

Investor Outreach
There is local capital on the sidelines in Port Angeles. We need to find it and bring it into our downtown.
Property Owner Outreach
We need to help property owners understand the benefits of investing in their facades.
Grant Writing
There are grants available to help fund our programs. We need to find them and apply for them.
Project Management
We need to help contractors, designers, and property owners execute on our projects.

Provide local capital
Although the city has a grant program for funding half the cost of facade improvements, property owners are not incentivized enough to participate. We need to change that.
